How to Use .MRPACK Files on CurseForge ?

A friend recommended me a Modrinth modpack, and when I grabbed it, the download ended with “.mrpack.”
At first I thought it was broken, because CurseForge wouldn’t recognize it.
Turns out it’s a different format so how do we make it work on CurseForge? – NAMOK84***

How to Use MRPACK Files on CurseForge

Answer:
Unfortunately, you can’t import a .mrpack file directly into CurseForge. The CurseForge launcher only accepts .zip modpacks, while .mrpack is the native format used by Modrinth’s launcher. That’s why it doesn’t show up in CurseForge when you try to add it.

The good news is that you can easily convert the .mrpack into a .zip. The simplest method is to use the free online converter here: 👉 MRPack to ZIP Converter at MRPACKZIP.COM. It works right in your browser and doesn’t require any sign-up.

You’ve got a few options depending on what you already have:

  • Project ID: Copy the project ID from the Modrinth modpack page and paste it into the converter.
  • Download Link: If you have the direct .mrpack link, just paste it in.
  • Local File: Already downloaded the .mrpack? Upload it directly to the converter.

Once the tool gives you the .zip, here’s how you get it into CurseForge:

  1. Open the CurseForge launcher.
  2. Go to Minecraft → Create Custom Profile.
  3. Click Import.
  4. Select the .zip file you just converted.
  5. CurseForge will handle the rest downloading mods, setting configs, and preparing the pack.

After that, the modpack will appear in your CurseForge list just like any other.

So, in short: you can’t run .mrpack directly in CurseForge, but converting it to .zip takes less than a minute and works perfectly.
