Dungeons and Taverns Woodland Mansion Overhaul - 184-Room Mansion with Basement and Guarded Road

DATAPACK

Overhauls woodland mansions with 184 randomized rooms, a basement layer, pillager-guarded entrance roads, and redistributed loot.

Vanilla woodland mansions often feel repetitive and lackluster, with tiny room pools, empty storage chests, and no reason to explore beyond the first few hallways. This standalone data pack completely replaces those structures without requiring the main Dungeons and Taverns mod. It delivers a procedurally assembled mansion using 184 unique rooms divided across 8 functional categories, so no two visits look the same. A new basement layer, hidden chambers, and a strong road element make the mansion a true world feature rather than an isolated box.

Explorers who are tired of finding bare storage rooms will appreciate the overhauled loot system. Every former empty chest now draws from a dedicated supply table, while regular containers carry more varied and higher-tier resources. Witches and extra pillagers fill the halls, turning the mansion into a dangerous occupied fortress. The entrance generates a long path defended by pillagers, pulling the structure into the landscape and offering a natural build-up to the main fight. Secret rooms are tucked into both the main floors and the basement, rewarding thorough investigation with extra treasures.

  • 184 rooms in 8 types – eliminates the repetitive vanilla layout with broadly varied interior arrangements.
  • Basement layer – accessed by the staircase at the rear of the mansion, containing its own set of rooms and secrets.
  • Restocked loot tables – supply chests for previously empty storage rooms, plus overall improved resource yields.
  • Occupied stronghold – pillagers and witches roam the mansion, raising the threat level and atmosphere.
  • Guarded entrance road – a generated path guarded by pillagers extends away from the mansion, anchoring it to the terrain.

This data pack works on its own in Minecraft Java Edition; it does not need the Dungeons and Taverns mod. It replaces the default woodland mansion generation only in newly created chunks—existing mansions are unaffected. To install, place the pack inside your world’s datapacks folder and reload. Note that the main Dungeons and Taverns mod does not include these mansion changes, so you can combine both if you want the mod’s other structures alongside a fully overhauled mansion.
