Magicraft introduces a self-contained magic progression to vanilla Minecraft, designed for players who want to earn their power through exploration and resource management instead of commands or creative mode. It solves the problem of late-game monotony by turning rare loot into spell unlocks: each newly discovered scroll teaches a permanent ability that consumes mana, forcing you to balance aggression with recovery.
This data pack suits survival adventurers, map makers looking for magic-themed challenges, and anyone who enjoys the classic RPG loop of finding, learning, and casting spells without leaving the vanilla feel. The system does not add custom UIs that break the HUD; all interactions happen through right‑click and left‑click actions with the grimoire and scrolls, keeping the interface consistent with vanilla mechanics.
- Scroll Learning: Right-click any spell scroll to permanently add it to your grimoire library.
- Grimoire Casting: Select a spell via the grimoire GUI, then left-click with the book in hand to cast.
- Mana Regeneration: Mana replenishes at 1 point every 5 seconds by default; casting pauses regen briefly.
- Mana Potions: Brew a potion that instantly refills your mana bar to full, craftable without complex recipes.
- Rare Scroll Sources: Obtain scrolls from Wandering Traders, fishing treasure, archaeology, bastion remnants, buried treasure, end cities, shipwrecks, evokers, the Wither, and illusioners.
Requirements: This data pack works in Minecraft 1.21+ and relies completely on vanilla commands and resource pack features. It does not require any mod loaders or external tools. Because spells use scoreboard-tracked mana and entities, performance can drop if many custom spell entities are active at once. Multiplayer is supported, but each player tracks their own known spells and mana independently. Some spells may need breathing room in tight spaces to avoid unwanted block destruction.
