GalleyRP Askalon is the official modpack for the GalleyRP server, built to address two common problems: outdated mod versions that break server features, and performance issues that interrupt roleplay. This pack is intended for players who want a stable, modern client that matches the server's 1.21.11 environment while keeping the game comfortable to run on a range of hardware.

The modpack updates the base game to Minecraft 1.21.11, providing a more future-ready foundation for server tools and custom mechanics. By replacing older mods with up-to-date alternatives and adding targeted optimizations, it reduces stutter, memory use, and load times. It is not a general-purpose pack – it is designed specifically for use on the GalleyRP server and will not unlock content intended for other servers.

Atmosphere and feedback mods – Includes Sound Physics Remastered, AmbientSounds, Cool Rain, Falling Leaves, Emotecraft, Custom Player Models, and Dynamic Crosshair. These add environmental audio, weather effects, player animations, and interface feedback that help you stay aware of your surroundings during roleplay.
Quality-of-life improvements – Chat Heads, Zoomify, AppleSkin, Pick Up Notifier, Better Ping Display, and Controlling. These reduce friction without adding distracting HUD elements, so you can focus on the story.
Performance optimizations – Lithium, FerriteCore, ImmediatelyFast, Entity Culling, More Culling, Cull Leaves, Dynamic FPS, Krypton, Noisium, and Sodium Extra. Together they lower CPU/GPU usage, reduce memory footprint, and improve chunk loading. This makes the pack usable even on older machines or with many players nearby.
No bloatware – The pack deliberately excludes magic, tech, or exploration mods that are not needed for the server’s roleplay systems. This keeps the download small and avoids unnecessary conflicts.

Requirements and limits: You must have Minecraft 1.21.11 (Java Edition) installed. A minimum of 4 GB RAM allocated to the game is recommended; 6 GB or more is better for large player gatherings. The modpack is not compatible with other servers that run different versions or mod sets. It is actively maintained for the GalleyRP community, but outside that environment some features (e.g., emotes, custom models) will not work as intended.
