Shaders Don't Have Horizons! - The Ultimate Visual & Performance Modpack
MODPACKThe definitive upgrade to 'Shaders Are Amazing', merging Distant Horizons with advanced shaders for infinite views and high frame rates.
Minecraft's beauty has always been boxed in by a flat, foggy wall that chops the horizon short. Shaders often make this worse, devouring FPS as soon as the view distance climbs. Shaders Don't Have Horizons! ends that trade-off. It combines Distant Horizons (LODs) with a hand-picked fleet of path-traced and rasterized shader packs, all running on a Sodium + Nvidium foundation. The result: distant mountains, oceans, and forests render for thousands of blocks without the usual stutter or frame collapse. This pack is built for players who refused to choose between seeing forever and maintaining competitive frame times.
This is the next chapter after Shaders Are Amazing, re-engineered from the ground up for modern hardware. Whether you are exploring SMP servers, building in creative, or hosting a modded adventure with friends, the pack delivers consistent high performance without hand-holding. It comes pre-configured: no need to wrestle with LOD settings, shader options, or threading parameters. Simply pick your preferred shader from the in-game menu and play.
- Infinite Landscape Rendering: Distant Horizons pre-configured with reasonable CPU/GPU budgets, delivering views exceeding 1000 blocks while maintaining stable frame times.
- Curated Shader Vault: Complementary Unbound, Complementary Reimagined, Rethinking Voxels, Bliss, SEUS PTGI HRR, Photon, and Solas—all tested for compatibility and tuned to avoid light leaking or broken water.
- Resource Pack Synergy: Patrix 32x, Faithful 64x, and Fresh Animations are included and activated by default; no manual file shuffling required.
- Audio & Physical Detail: Physics Remastered, AmbientSounds, and Presence Footsteps create 3D soundscapes and block movement responses that match the visual scale.
- Extreme Optimization Core: Sodium, Nvidium, Lithium, FerriteCore, ModernFix, StutterFix, Noisium, ThreadTweak, Concurrent Chunk Management Engine, and Chunky work together to eliminate micro-stutter, cut RAM waste, and speed up world loading.
Requirements and honest limits: You need a dedicated GPU with at least 6 GB VRAM and up-to-date drivers (RTX 2060 or Radeon RX 5600 XT minimum). For path-traced shaders like SEUS PTGI HRR or Photon, an RTX 30-series or newer card is strongly advised. Allocate a minimum of 8 GB RAM, with 12–16 GB recommended for the highest resource packs. Distant Horizons LOD generation will use additional CPU threads during initial world travel. This pack pushes hardware; it is not designed for integrated graphics or very old laptops. Modpack version 2.0+ is validated on RTX 50-series GPUs and includes Nvidium optimizations for Ada and Blackwell architectures.
