Aeronautics Wind Sound - Dynamic Wind Audio for Flying Vehicles
MODAdds speed-based wind sounds to Create: Aeronautics vehicles, with shelter attenuation and full configuration options.
Do you feel that cruising on a Create: Aeronautics airship is a bit too quiet and lacking in immersion? This mod solves that by adding the rushing sound of wind whenever you ride a moving physics structure from that mod. The wind volume adjusts dynamically based on the vehicle's current speed, so a slow drift produces a gentle breeze while a full-throttle dash creates a forceful roar.
Beyond simple speed scaling, the mod also factors in your immediate surroundings. If you are sheltered — meaning there are blocks within a short distance in the direction of travel that obstruct your view — the wind sound is automatically attenuated. This gives a convincing sense of flying inside a cabin, behind a windscreen, or under a canopy. The effect works for any vehicle that uses Aeronautics’ physics system, including airships, planes, and other custom builds.
- Dynamic wind volume that rises and falls with the vehicle’s speed, using configurable upper and lower speed thresholds.
- Shelter detection that reduces wind volume when blocks are present in the movement direction within a set distance.
- Full configuration file lets you adjust speed thresholds, volume range, and the sheltered volume coefficient to match your preferences.
- Lightweight integration — only adds a single environmental sound effect; no new items, blocks, or GUIs.
To use this mod, you must have Create: Aeronautics installed (and its dependency, Create). The wind sound plays only while riding a physics structure from that mod; it does not affect other movement or vehicles. The mod is designed for players who value atmospheric detail during flight and are comfortable editing a config file if finer control is desired. It adds no gameplay mechanics and will not interfere with existing mods.
