Create Aero Radars – Anti-Air Radar Guidance for Create & Aeronautics
MODControl swivel bearings from Aeronautics using Create radars for precise anti-air turrets with minimal delay.
Create Aero Radars bridges two major mods—Create and Aeronautics—to let you build automated anti-air turrets and large-caliber cannons that track targets with exceptional speed. The core idea is simple: a standard Create radar sends aiming commands to a swivel bearing from Aeronautics, turning any mounted cannon or flak gun into a self-propelled air defense system. This integration makes it possible to construct mobile or stationary AA platforms that react to flying mobs, aircraft, or player-piloted airships in real time.
Vanilla Create radars suffer from a 5-tick delay per update, which is too slow for fast-moving aerial targets. This mod reduces that delay to only 1 tick, giving your turrets a much tighter lock. It also adds guidance radar logic that predicts target movement, plus gun convergence settings so multiple barrels fire at a shared aim point. The result is a system that can track and lead targets effectively—essential for shooting down agile threats. This mod is intended for builders who want functional, high-speed anti-air defenses without complex redstone timers or external control scripts.
- 1-tick aiming delay instead of the default 5 ticks, improving reaction speed against fast targets.
- Guidance radar that predicts target velocity, allowing turrets to lead shots automatically.
- Gun convergence for multi-barrel setups, ensuring all projectiles converge on a single point at a chosen range.
- Direct swivel bearing control from any Create radar output, working with both the base mod and Aeronautics mechanics.
- Self-propelled platform support—radar can be mounted on moving vehicles while maintaining tracking accuracy.
To use Create Aero Radars, you must have both Create and Aeronautics installed. The mod only controls swivel bearings; it does not alter other Create or Aeronautics components. Performance depends on entity count and radar range—very large turret arrays may require careful testing to avoid lag. No additional libraries are required beyond the two core mods.
