Indium was an essential addon for Sodium, providing Fabric Rendering API support, but is now deprecated as Sodium includes this functionality.

Indium was a crucial utility mod for Minecraft players utilizing Sodium to optimize their game's rendering performance. Prior to Sodium version 0.6.0, Indium served as the bridge, enabling Sodium users to benefit from the Fabric Rendering API. This API is fundamental for many cosmetic and feature-rich mods that implement advanced rendering techniques, which Sodium initially did not support directly. However, it is vital to note: Indium is no longer required for Sodium 0.6.0 and newer versions, as Sodium now integrates native support for the Fabric Rendering API. Players who previously wished to combine the significant performance gains of Sodium with a wide array of Fabric mods relying on advanced visual effects often found Indium indispensable.
