Twixxel's Stalker (port) - Silent Hunter Mod

MOD

A port of Twixxel's Stalker mod from CurseForge to Modrinth. Adds a silent hunter that moves when you look away.

This mod is a direct port of the original Twixxel's Stalker mod by mr. perkasc, now available on Modrinth for players who prefer this platform. The Stalker is a terrifying, motionless entity that watches you from the shadows. It cannot move while you are looking directly at it — but the instant you turn away, it rushes toward you at alarming speed. If the original creator requests removal, I will comply. Full credit goes to mr. perkasc for the original design and to Twixxel and LCrandom for the inspiration and visual concepts.

Who should use this mod? Horror fans and players seeking a constant, low-level dread factor. It solves the problem of a monster that is neither a typical hostile mob nor a pure jumpscare – instead, it creates a tense game of “don’t blink.” The Stalker spawns in forests, caves, abandoned structures, and even outside your base at night. It will follow you across biomes, always keeping an eye on you, ready to strike the moment you lose sight. Casual players or children may find it too frightening; use with caution.

  • Line-of-Sight Based Movement: The Stalker freezes while you look at it, but moves extremely fast when you look away.
  • Stealthy Appearances: It appears silently between trees, behind structures, or staring through windows. No sound cues until it’s too late.
  • Persistent Stalking: Once it locks onto you, it will follow across dimensions and long distances, never giving up.
  • Customizable Behavior: Config options allow you to adjust spawn rate, movement speed, and despawn distance.
  • Fully Client-Side Option: Works on servers even if only installed on the client (for single-player or role-play servers).

Requirements: This mod requires Minecraft 1.20.1 and Fabric Loader 0.14+. The official Fabric API is also needed. No other dependencies are required. The mod is a direct port with no additional changes; all features remain identical to the original CurseForge version. Known limitations: The Stalker can occasionally get stuck in tight spaces, and its AI may behave unpredictably with certain modded blocks or structures. Performance impact is minimal, but experiencing it on low-end hardware may cause slight tick delays.
