Donut-anti-freecam – Freecam Exploit Detection

PLUGIN

Detect and prevent freecam exploits by monitoring movement, interactions, and packet anomalies with configurable sensitivity and staff alerts.

Freecam exploits let players detach their viewpoint from their character, allowing unfair scouting of bases, hidden chests, and layered defenses without any risk. Donut-anti-freecam closes this gap by continuously analyzing player movement patterns, interaction distances, and packet-level activity to identify when a camera moves independently of the player's physical body. The plugin is a focused layer of defense for servers where territorial integrity and fair exploration matter—factions, prison, survival worlds, and adventure maps.

Designed for server owners who need a lightweight, configurable tool rather than a full anti-cheat suite, Donut-anti-freecam runs purely server-side with no client mods required. It looks for telltale signs such as reaching blocks far beyond normal reach, instantaneous repositioning, and sequences of packets that no legitimate client generates. You decide what happens when a violation is detected, and you can give trusted players bypass permissions so they are never flagged.

  • Configurable detection sensitivity – Adjust thresholds for movement speed, reach distance, and packet anomaly scoring to reduce false positives in varying network conditions.
  • Automatic violation handling – Execute chains of commands on detection, from warning and kicking to temporary or permanent bans, with optional escalating actions for repeat offenders.
  • Bypass permissions – Grant staff members, event participants, or builders immunity from checks without disabling the plugin globally.
  • Comprehensive logging – Record every flagged session with timestamps, player UUIDs, violation type, and snapshot context for later review or external log analysis.
  • Staff alert system – Send real-time notifications to administrators with clickable or hoverable details, enabling prompt manual investigation while the violator is still online.

Donut-anti-freecam requires a server running Paper, Spigot, or Bukkit (version 1.16 and newer recommended). Because it inspects packets and movement events, higher player counts will increase CPU load—consider tuning the scan intervals and only enabling the most critical checks. This plugin is a freecam-specific countermeasure, not a general anti-cheat; combine it with other protections to cover killaura, flight, or x-ray. Some rare edge cases on heavily lagging connections may produce false positives, so initial testing and threshold adjustment are essential before enforcing strict automated punishments.
