alloys — Ten Fantasy Metals for Minecraft
PLUGINTen fantasy alloys with full toolsets, armor, and passive traits, fully additive to vanilla, available as a datapack for Minecraft 26.2+.
The alloys plugin introduces ten original fantasy metals—from humble Tin to the legendary Astral—into your Minecraft world without overwriting a single vanilla recipe or ore drop. This strictly additive system ensures that all standard progression and crafting remain untouched while giving players a new layer of material progression. Every alloy includes a complete set of tools, armor, and a bow, each with its own stats, durability, and passive effects that change how you approach combat, mining, and exploration.
This package addresses a common pain point for survival server owners and modpack makers: the need for fresh equipment tiers that don't break existing game balance or require a full conversion. Because the core logic lives in a datapack, it works wherever datapacks are supported, and an optional companion resource pack provides distinct textures for every ingot, fragment, tool, and armor piece. If the resource pack is omitted, alloy items simply use their vanilla base models, so the experience remains functional in all environments.
Server administrators running Paper can install the optional plugin component to unlock a recipe chest GUI, an in-game written guidebook, and a suite of /alloys commands for managing or inspecting the new content. This makes it easy for players to discover recipes without external wikis and for staff to troubleshoot or demonstrate features quickly.
- 10 distinct alloys: Tin, Bronze, Silver, Steel, Cobalt, Nickel, Platinum, Mythril, Adamantine, and Astral, each with purpose-designed stats.
- Complete toolkits: Full sets of tools, armor, and bows with passive traits (e.g., mining bonuses or damage resistances).
- 100% additive crafting: Alloy recipes use the
#alloys:ingots/<alloy>item tag; vanilla recipes remain untouched. - Bonus ore drops: Four new fragment types drop from mining, adding a side reward loop without cluttering existing spawns.
- Dual distribution: Core datapack for gameplay, recommended resource pack for visual identity, and an optional Paper plugin for GUI, guidebook, and commands.
To use alloys, you need Minecraft version 26.2 or higher. The datapack is required for all features; the resource pack is strongly recommended to see distinct item art. The Paper plugin is entirely optional and only works on Paper-based servers, offering quality-of-life tools beyond what the datapack can provide alone. Note that crossbow and bow behaviors are still under heavy testing, so expect minor tuning in those areas.
