Punchy Refined – A Personal Item Animation Style
RESOURCEPACKA personal take on punchy item animations, refreshing tool and equipment movement with custom bobs and pulls—currently in early development.
Punchy Refined is my own reinterpretation of the popular punchy animation concept. Instead of copying the original movement curves, I started from scratch to give tools, weapons, and held items a snappy, responsive feel that matches my personal taste. The pack currently focuses on a small selection of animations—mainly pull-out motions and idle bobs for swords, pickaxes, and a few utility items.
This pack is for anyone who enjoys animated equipment but wants something slightly different from the mainstream punchy style. It solves the flat, static look of vanilla inventories and hotbars by replacing them with motions that make switching items feel more deliberate. If you spend a lot of time in your inventory or enjoy seeing your gear react, this early version gives you a taste of what is planned.
- Custom pull-out animations for swords, pickaxes, and shovels with adjusted timing and arcs.
- Refined idle bobs that keep held items subtly alive without being distracting.
- Distinct easing curves that set the movement apart from the original Punchy pack.
- Planned expansion to cover all tools, armor pieces, and common utility items in future updates.
- Lightweight implementation that relies only on resource pack features—no performance overhead.
You need OptiFine (or an equivalent that supports custom item animations) for the animations to work. The pack has been tested on Minecraft Java Edition 1.19.4 through 1.20.4, and your game must be able to load animated CIT properties. Keep in mind this is a first release: only a handful of items are animated, and some edge cases with offhand or certain GUI scales may still need polish. Reports are welcome through the community channels.
