EzSaturation – Ultra-Lightweight Saturation Shader

SHADER

A lightweight Iris shader that adds a saturation slider to adjust color intensity without altering lighting, shadows, or performance.

EzSaturation is an ultra-lightweight shader pack for Iris Shaders that solves a common visual need: adjusting Minecraft's color saturation without changing the game's core look or dragging down your framerate. Many players find the default colors either too muted or too intense for their taste, but full shader packs often introduce heavy lighting, shadows, and reflections that alter the atmosphere and impact performance. EzSaturation takes the opposite approach—it modifies only saturation, leaving everything else exactly as Mojang designed it.

This shader is ideal for players who want to fine-tune the visual mood of their worlds while preserving the original Minecraft aesthetic. Whether you prefer a cold, desaturated palette, a vibrant fantasy tone, or just want to experiment with extremes, the single saturation slider lets you dial in the exact intensity you want. It is also a perfect choice for low-end hardware, Potato PC users, and anyone who insists on maintaining the clean, vanilla-like look without trading away precious frames.

  • Adjustable Saturation Slider – Choose from a precise range of values: 0.0 (full grayscale) through 1.0 (default) up to 100 (maximum saturation for wild experimentation). Common increments are 0.05 between 0.0 and 2.0, with larger jumps at 3.0 and 100.
  • Zero Lighting or Shadow Changes – The shader never touches lightmaps, shadows, reflections, or atmospheric effects. Only color saturation is affected, so the game's original mood and brightness remain intact.
  • Extremely Performance Friendly – With a minimal code footprint, EzSaturation runs smoothly on integrated graphics and older systems. It adds almost no GPU overhead, leaving your framerate unaffected.
  • Plug-and-Play Simplicity – Drop the shader into your Iris shaderpacks folder, select it in the menu, and adjust the slider. No extra configuration or resource packs required.
  • Broad Version Support – Works with Minecraft 1.17 through 1.21.8 and Iris Shaders v1.7.0 or newer (including Iris 1.8.x). The shader targets GLSL version 120 and above for wide hardware compatibility.

Requirements and honest limits: You need Iris Shaders v1.7.0+ on Minecraft 1.17–1.21.8. EzSaturation does not add any new visual effects—if you want dynamic lighting, reflections, or custom shadows, you will need another shader pack (and you should expect that to alter the look). Slider values beyond 2.0 produce increasingly unnatural colors; the 100 setting is entirely for experimentation and will not look realistic. Version support may expand with future updates, but currently only the listed Iris and Minecraft ranges are validated.
