I Am Not Okay - Dynamic Intoxication Shader
SHADERA lightweight Minecraft shader that creates realistic intoxication effects with camera sway, lens warping, and double vision.
I Am Not Okay is a lightweight shader designed to replicate the visual experience of intoxication through a full-screen post-processing pass. Instead of altering Minecraft's built-in lighting or sky, it applies real-time distortion to the final rendered image including subtle camera sway, lens warping, double vision, chromatic separation, and tunnel vision. The result is a constantly shifting viewpoint that feels unstable and disoriented, yet remains functional for gameplay.
This shader is intended for players who want to simulate drunkenness for roleplay scenarios, horror-themed adventure maps, or custom challenge modes where reduced visual clarity adds difficulty. It is also suitable for content creators seeking a quick, believable disorientation effect without heavy performance costs. The effects are fully animated using a built-in time counter, requiring no player input to maintain motion.
- Dynamic Camera Sway – The view drifts horizontally and vertically using layered sine-wave motion, creating a natural sense of imbalance.
- World Tilt Rotation – A slow rotational offset causes the entire screen to lean from side to side, reinforcing the feeling of lost equilibrium.
- Double Vision and Chromatic Shift – Slight ghosting combined with red-blue color separation simulates the blurred, overlapping edges of perception.
- Tunnel Vision – The periphery of the screen darkens progressively, narrowing focus and adding a claustrophobic, heavy-headed sensation.
- Playable While Active – All effects are tuned so that movement, combat, and basic interactions remain possible, though precision tasks become harder.
The shader works with any shader-compatible mod loader such as OptiFine, Iris, or Oculus. It runs as a composite pass and does not require a depth buffer or advanced rendering features, making it compatible with most hardware. Note that the effects may cause motion sickness in sensitive users; a brief period of adjustment is normal. Because it distorts vision significantly, this shader is not recommended for competitive PvP, parkour, or any activity requiring precise spatial awareness.
