Line Shaders – Performance-Friendly Vanilla+ Shader

SHADER

Line Shaders gives Minecraft soft shadows, gentle bloom, and waving water without killing your frame rate—perfect for low-end PCs.

Line Shaders is a performance-first Minecraft shader built for players who want the game to look a little cleaner and livelier without trading away smooth frame rates. It solves the common problem of heavy shaders that turn a playable session into a slideshow on modest hardware. By adding soft screen-space shadows, a mild bloom glow, and subtly animated water, it makes the lighting feel more natural while staying very close to vanilla’s visual identity.

This pack is aimed at anyone on a low-end or mid-range system—laptops with integrated graphics, older desktops, or players who simply prefer high FPS over dramatic visual overhauls. It does not attempt volumetric clouds, reflections, or complex ambient occlusion. Instead, it keeps every effect deliberately light so your GPU can handle busy scenes, mob farms, and exploration without stuttering.

  • Soft screen-space shadows – adds depth under trees and overhangs with almost no performance drop.
  • Gentle bloom – a faint glow on sunlit blocks and bright surfaces that avoids washing out the image.
  • Smooth animated water – basic wave distortion makes rivers and oceans feel alive without complex reflections.
  • Vanilla-like tone mapping – preserves Minecraft’s original color balance and doesn’t oversaturate.
  • Extremely low overhead – designed to run on integrated graphics and older dedicated GPUs while keeping chunk loading fast.

You need a shader loader such as OptiFine or Iris and a graphics card (or integrated chip) that supports OpenGL 2.1 or newer, which almost every modern system does. This shader works on Windows, Linux, and macOS. It is not intended for players who want realistic water caustics, dynamic shadow maps, or ray tracing—those features are deliberately omitted to keep the pack fast and accessible.
