Lucid Clarity – Crisp Vanilla+ Lighting

SHADER

A lightweight shader pack that eliminates washed-out haze, delivering crisp vanilla-style lighting with full customization and high performance.

Lucid Clarity is a lightweight, performance-focused shader pack purpose-built for players who want to sharpen Minecraft’s vanilla look without the common “milky” haze or gray washout found in many other shaders. It solves the problem of over-processed, hazy visuals by recalibrating tonemapping, light falloff, and ambient color balance. The result is a crisp, high-contrast world where days feel warm and bright, nights are cool and clear, and the familiar blocky style remains intact.

This shader is ideal for anyone running low- to mid-range hardware—including laptops with integrated graphics—who still wants richer lighting. By intentionally skipping volumetric fog, path tracing, and heavy screen-space reflections, Lucid Clarity trades resource-hungry effects for luminous skies, smooth fog gradients, and responsive frame rates. The in-game settings menu (via Iris or OptiFine) gives you direct control over Contrast, Saturation, Exposure, and Fog Density, so you can make the world look exactly how you like without restarting.

  • Dehazed tonemapping: Removes the gray, washed-out filter that dulls colors and flattens contrast.
  • Vanilla+ light tuning: Refined color temperatures keep days warm and nights crisp, preserving Minecraft’s original identity.
  • On-the-fly customization: Sliders for Contrast, Saturation, Exposure, and Fog Density work instantly—no reload needed.
  • Broad hardware support: Runs smoothly on integrated graphics and older GPUs by design, avoiding complex volumetric fog and reflections.
  • Clean, crisp visuals: Enhanced edge contrast and careful bloom management deliver sharp, readable scenes without eye strain.

Requirements: You need Iris Shaders 1.6+ or OptiFine HD U G5+ in a compatible Minecraft: Java Edition client (1.16.5 or later recommended). The pack does not include path tracing, real-time shadows beyond basic sun shadows, or volumetric fog—this is intentional to keep the load light. Most users with OpenGL 2.1-compatible integrated graphics or better can expect stable 60+ fps at 1080p with default settings.
