Nolantic Shader is a personal, visually driven side project born from the creator of HBM's Nuclear Tech Modernized. It targets Minecraft 1.20.1 with a distinct semi-realistic, fantasy mood—perfect for builders, explorers, and screenshot enthusiasts who find vanilla lighting too sterile or many shaders too cold. The shader leans into sun-soaked warmth and gentle atmospheric blending, solving the harsh, clipped shadows and flat sunrise/sunset tones that can break immersion. If you want a world that feels bathed in a constant golden-hour glow without sacrificing the crisp clarity of a playable style, Nolantic is tuned exactly for that.

Be aware this is an early, actively developed shader; it is the author's first attempt at shader programming and part of a larger mod project. Occasional visual bugs, unpolished effects, or performance tweaks are expected. It suits players who value artistic direction and are comfortable with a work-in-progress rather than a polished final product. The community Discord provides beta builds, changelogs, and direct support if you encounter rough edges.

  • Cinematic Atmospheric Warmth – Specially tuned light-scattering models deepen sunset and sunrise colors into dense, amber tones, turning ordinary golden hours into memorable on-screen moments.
  • Organic Light Bleeding – Low-angle sunlight naturally washes across block edges and terrain surfaces. This softens pixelated contrasts for an unusually clean, cinematic look without expensive ray-tracing.
  • Advanced Volumetric Fog – Thick, low-altitude fog layers inherit the sun's color, scattering light realistically across the horizon and adding depth to valleys, forests, and coastlines.
  • Warm Ambient Shadows – Ambient occlusion and indirect shading are physically tinted by the environment’s light, replacing pitch-black voids with softly lit crevices that feel airy and natural.

Nolantic requires Minecraft 1.20.1 with a compatible shader loader like Iris or OptiFine. It may function on newer or older game versions if your loader supports them, but consistent results are only validated on the target version. A mid-range dedicated GPU is recommended—volumetric fog and wide light-scattering passes will stress integrated graphics. As a first-time shader, expect unusual rendering on some blocks or fringe visual glitches; direct feedback in the developer’s discord helps refine these quirks.
