Polace - Super Light Shaderpack for Minecraft

SHADER

Polace delivers dynamic lighting and vivid visuals without weighing down your system, ideal for low-end hardware.

Polace is a performance-first shaderpack built from scratch to solve a common problem: most lightweight shaders strip away atmosphere to save frames. Polace maintains dynamic lighting, evocative night skies, and improved water while keeping resource usage low. It is designed for players who want a vanilla-like look with better shadows, volumetric effects, and realistic water, without needing a high-end GPU. The pack is particularly suited to potato computers, laptops, or anyone who prioritizes stable 60 FPS over flashy effects.

Unlike many light shaderpacks that compromise on visual quality, Polace concentrates on preserving atmosphere through enhanced skies, vivid color reproduction, and improved volumetric fog (now finished). Shadows and reflections are work-in-progress; upcoming changes include better shadow quality, refined presets (currently broken on 1.1-beta but working on 1.0), reflections, and enhanced cloud appearance. The 1.1-beta release contains only minor bugs, though transparent items remain unfixed—this may be a limitation outside the shaderpack itself.

  • Dynamic Lighting – Real-time lighting that reacts to torches, sunlight, and sky color, adding depth without heavy post-processing.
  • Volumetric Fog & Ambient Fog – Finished features that create distance haze and atmospheric mist, improving immersion in caves and open landscapes.
  • Realistic Water – Enhanced water transparency and reflection behavior that stays lightweight.
  • Evocative Night Skies – Starfield and moon glow adjusted for mood without expensive effects.
  • Scalable Performance – Built to run on low-end hardware; tested on Minecraft 1.21.11 with Iris 1.10.7, and works with OptiFine across versions from 1.21.1 to 26.1.2.

Requirements: Polace works with OptiFine and Iris Shaders. It was tested on Minecraft 1.21.11 + Iris 1.10.7, and should function on versions from 1.21.1 to 26.1.2. The 1.1-beta has minor bugs; transparent items are not fixed. Performance scales well on integrated graphics and older dedicated GPUs, making it a strong choice for budget rigs.
